Handmade update 3….

This may not be sewing, but it is a handmade item. Most of the work on this was hubbies hard labour and I assisted with a bit of the assembly. This amazing dining room table is very special because…

A) we waited more than 30 years for it

B) it is upcycled from old school gym benches

C) so much love and care went into its production

D) we can fit 14 people around it which is the current size of our direct family

E) it is a thing of beauty

F) it only cost £106 to make and all of that is for the turned legs

G) it has a hidden shelf on one side where the cutlery canteen is stored

Christmas around our table was pure joy and we will have many more memorable meals to come.

  1. Fabulous! And no need now for the ’emergency tables’!

    • I know! We have a new arrival in the form of grandchild number 6 before Christmas this year, but luckily they don’t need a seat just yet 🙂

      • Congratulations! It’s a good strong table to buy one of the high chairs that fasten to it when needed. We inherited one off his cousin, a sturdy metal contraption and H loved being sat right to the table with everyone. 😃
