A chisel in a sewing room??….

I know, it does sound rather strange to find a chisel in a sewing room rather than a workshop, but this little baby is brilliant for making the perfect buttonhole. Once you have sewn all the buttonholes and pressed them nicely you simply place the buttonhole chisel or buttonhole cutter as it is also called onto your cutting mat and press down gently.  They are that sharp that you don’t have to work too hard to cut the perfect slit in your garment without having to use the little blade on your quick unpick and a pin to make sure you don’t cut too far into the buttonhole bar.

I am a new convert to these little gizmo’s but I really am rather taken with them.
